In order to produce a high quality product, CEZALEX uses many common types of trees found in the forests of Warmia and Mazury. These tree species (both coniferous and deciduous) are characterised by high calorific value, including trunks of alder, birch, spruce, hornbeam, oak, beech and pine. Our product is versatile, suited to the needs of customers operating in various industries.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our wood chips meet the requirements of the Polish <\/span><b>PN EN 14961-4:2011<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Austrian<\/span><b> \u00d6NORM M-7133 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and German <\/span><b>DIN 51900 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">standards.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The wood chips manufactured by PW CEZALEX are intended not only for the energy sector, but also for the paper and pulp, furniture, horticultural and zoological industries. The suitability of wood chips for use in each industry is determined primarily by the following properties: wood species, humidity, fraction and contamination level (amount of dust, soil, needles).<\/span><\/p><p><b>Energy industry <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2013 woodchip-fired heating plants are characterised by clean combustion, <\/span><b>minimising greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> After placing the fuel in a special chamber, the burner is activated. The charred wood chips produce charcoal. The generated gas is then filtered of harmful substances, with a positive effect on the environment. Some of the exhaust gases are returned to the combustion area. All this makes the process very efficient and ecological. Very little exhaust gas is released into the atmosphere and heating is cheap and convenient.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pyrolysis (gasification) is another area in which wood chips are applied.<\/span><\/p><p><b>\u00a0Paper and pulp industry \u2192 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">commonly uses 5-50 mm x 10-20 mm rhomboid shaped wood chips. Digestion of cleaned and ground woodchips by sulphur-based substances is one method of obtaining cellulose. It is estimated that half of the wood traded worldwide is used for paper production.<\/span><\/p><p><b>\u00a0Furniture industry \u2192 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the primary material applied in production of furniture and interior fittings (such as decorative chips and wall panels) is chipboard and MDF, made from wood chips. These chips are easy to mill, can assume a variety of properties (such as moisture resistance) and provide a substrate for veneers.<\/span><\/p><p><b>Construction industry \u2192 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">OSB is commonly used in the finishing of houses and interiors and in the erection of structures. Wood chips are the natural material for this type of board. They are also used in load-bearing structures of internal and external wall and roof linings, frame structures, floor screed and ceiling linings, floor cladding on joists, etc.<\/span><\/p><p><b>Horticultural sector \u2192 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">wood chips are excellent insulators, protecting the soil from adverse weather conditions (eliminating problems associated with excessive soil freezing in winter and excessive soil heating in summer). Wood chips also provide weed control and are a natural way to retain moisture and aerate the soil.
